Tom Harris – Chair
I started coming to Odyssians in 2011 after hearing about camp from a friend. I didn’t know what to expect and was worried about getting everything right. When I turned up I quickly got to know everyone and was shown how to help out. It was a really intense and exciting week and I was interested to see how I could help out more. I joined the planning committee in my second year and in 2016 became Chairman of Odyssians. It’s great to spend the whole year planning camp and I’m really looking forward to Odyssians 2017!
Hannah Sawyer – Trustee
I arrived at Odyssians in 2006, nervous but excited about the week ahead. I’d come along to complete the residential aspect of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, and at the time I didn’t know what a huge impact Odyssians would have on my life! Over 10 years later and I’ve become a trustee of the charity, and look forward to the next camp as soon as the current years is over. I’ve made friends for life, gained a nickname I can’t shake (Toots!) and can’t imagine a year without camp! I’ve taken on the role of Secretary to compliment my role as Camp Leader, and hope to support the trustees and planning team in organising the next Odyssians camp!
Luke Forryan – Treasurer
I have been acting as the Treasurer for Odyssians for 1 year, and my main role includes the recording of all camp fees and expanses. Throughout the year, I organise all of the financial data, and produce reports about how we spend Odyssians’ money; these reports are presented during camp in our AGM and are posted online, to ensure that all members of Odyssians are able to see how their money is spent. I have also been involved in fundraising this year, so as to ensure that we have enough money to keep making camp better and better.
Jamie Sawyer – Trustee
Having been introduced to Odyssians in 2014 by my now-wife, Hannah Sawyer (Toots), I started off helping out with the updated website (that you’re on right now!). After coming along to a few meetings to help the Odyssians committee with the digital presence, I came along to my first camp in 2015. After being on the planning team in 2016, I decided to step up to be Secretary and try to help in any way I could.
Robin Gonard – Trustee
Daisy Woodley – Trustee
My mum attended camp when she was 5 months pregnant with me and my twin sister so I technically count that as my first year, meaning I have been attending camp for 22 years now. It’s easy to say that the week spent at Woodlarks each year are always my favourite 7 days of the year and I never want to leave after having such an amazing week. I wanted to become a trustee to have more involvement in the behind the scenes activity it takes to run camp and have been enjoying the experience so far (even through the 11am meetings on a Sunday do not quite fit in with the uni lifestyle!).
